DropTicker data sources
DropTicker uses daily domain zone files and registration data lookup services to track domain lifecycle changes.
ICANN CZDS zone files
The ICANN Centralized Zone Data Service (CZDS) provides access to participating generic top-level domain zone files. Comparing daily files lets DropTicker detect names that have left a zone. Real file access is subject to registry approval; TLDs without configured real access may use generated mock data.
RDAP
RDAP lookups are used to check domain registration status and lifecycle information. DropTicker discovers RDAP services through IANA’s bootstrap registry.
TLD coverage
The application is configured for these TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .xyz.
